OptinMonster is good at turning visitors into subscribers with exit-intent popups, floating bars, and slide-ins. Its analytics show which campaign converted. They don't show which ad, search, or referral brought each subscriber to your site, or whether those subscribers ever became customers. SourceLoop fills that in.

## What SourceLoop records for each OptinMonster signup

- **First and latest channel**, with source, medium, and campaign
- **The landing page** they arrived on and the pages they viewed before the popup
- **Ad click IDs** when they came from paid search or social
- **Their email** and any name field in the campaign
- **How many visits** came before they signed up
- **Device, browser, and country**

## Before you start

- A SourceLoop workspace ([free trial](https://app.sourceloop.ai/sign-up))
- An active OptinMonster campaign on your site
- Access to add a script to your site's `<head>`

## Step 1: Install the SourceLoop tracking code

In SourceLoop, open **Setup -> Tracking code** and copy the snippet.

Add it to the `<head>` of every page where your OptinMonster campaigns run. Most sites add it once in the theme header or through a tag manager so it covers every page.

## Step 2: Keep your campaigns on your own pages

OptinMonster campaigns load inside your pages, so there's nothing to change in OptinMonster. Signups are captured as soon as the SourceLoop code is on the same page as the campaign.

> **Tell signups apart from sales leads**
> Newsletter signups and demo requests often need different treatment. A [lead quality rule](/help/lead-quality-rules/) can mark OptinMonster signups as Not a fit, or give them a lower lead value, so they don't inflate your lead counts.

## Step 3: Test a signup

Visit a page with an active campaign in a private window, adding `?utm_source=test&utm_medium=check&utm_campaign=optin-test` to the address. Trigger the campaign, enter an email you can recognise, and submit.

The signup appears in SourceLoop's **Contacts** within seconds with the test campaign attached.

## Where to see OptinMonster signups in SourceLoop

### Contacts

Signups appear at [app.sourceloop.ai/contacts](https://app.sourceloop.ai/contacts). Open one to see whether the person read three blog posts before the popup or signed up on their first page view.

### Traffic and Revenue report

[app.sourceloop.ai/reports/traffic](https://app.sourceloop.ai/reports/traffic) credits signups to channels and campaigns. Compare which traffic sources produce subscribers, and which of those later become paying customers once your CRM or payment tool is connected.

### Funnels

At [app.sourceloop.ai/funnels](https://app.sourceloop.ai/funnels), chain the signup to a later step such as a demo booking or purchase to see which channels bring subscribers who keep going.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Which OptinMonster campaign types are captured?

Popups, floating bars, slide-ins, inline forms, and fullscreen campaigns all render on your own page, so every signup through them is captured once the SourceLoop tracking code is on that page.

### Will this double count if OptinMonster also sends the signup to my email tool?

No. SourceLoop records one lead for the signup. Your email tool still receives the subscriber as usual.

### Should newsletter signups count as leads?

That's your call. If they shouldn't, mark them Not a fit with a lead quality rule on the form tool or event, or exclude the form under Setup -> Tracking code -> Exclusions so they never become leads.

### Does it work on WordPress and Shopify?

Yes. OptinMonster campaigns work the same on any platform, as long as the SourceLoop tracking code loads on the pages where they appear.
