How to connect SourceLoop to Data Studio (Looker Studio)
Chart SourceLoop's traffic, conversions, and attributed revenue in Data Studio, formerly Looker Studio, with every metric and dimension available as a field.
On this page
If your team already reports in Data Studio (formerly Looker Studio), you can chart SourceLoop’s numbers there next to your other data. The connector brings in every SourceLoop metric and dimension as a field, under the attribution model you pick.
You can also find these steps in SourceLoop under Setup -> Data sync -> Destinations -> Reports and BI.
Step 1: Create a read-only API key
- Open Setup in the left sidebar, then API & MCP.
- Create a new API key. Name it after the report, so you can revoke exactly that report later.
- Leave the write scopes unticked. Reporting only reads.
- Copy the key.
Step 2: Add the connector in Data Studio
- In SourceLoop, open Setup -> Data sync, choose the Destinations tab, and open Data Studio under Reports and BI.
- Click Add Sourceloop to Data Studio.
- Paste your API key when Data Studio asks for it, and authorise the connector in your Google account. The only permission it asks for lets it call SourceLoop’s API; it reads nothing else in your Google account.
Step 3: Pick a website and start charting
- Choose which website the data source reports on. Every figure comes back in that website’s own time zone and currency, so one report never mixes two.
- Add the data source to a report and build charts as usual.
What to expect:
- Every metric and dimension you see in SourceLoop is available as a field.
- The attribution model is a setting on each chart, not on the data source.
- Date ranges and filters on a chart are applied when SourceLoop runs the query.

Frequently asked questions
-
Does the connector need write access?
No. It only reads. Create the API key with no write scopes, so the key can't change anything even if the report is shared widely.
-
Can I change the attribution model in Data Studio?
Yes. The attribution model is a setting on each chart, so one report can show Last touch in one chart and First touch in another.
-
Which plans include the connector?
It reads SourceLoop through the API, so it is available on plans that include API access.
-
How do I cut off access to a shared report?
Revoke the API key the report was built with, under Setup -> API & MCP. The report stops refreshing for everyone it was shared with.
-
How fresh are the numbers?
Each chart asks SourceLoop for current numbers, and answers are kept for up to 10 minutes, so a report with many charts stays quick.
