Wufoo has been collecting entries for small businesses and teams for well over a decade, and its reports tell you how many came in each day. They can’t tell you which ad, search, or newsletter sent each person. SourceLoop adds that, with nothing to change inside Wufoo.

What SourceLoop records for each Wufoo entry

  • The channel and campaign that brought the person to your site, first and most recent
  • UTM tags and ad click IDs from their landing page
  • Every page they viewed before submitting, in order
  • How many visits it took, and how long they spent on your site
  • Their name and email from the Wufoo fields
  • Country, device, and browser

Before you start

  • A SourceLoop workspace (free trial)
  • Access to edit the page where your Wufoo form will live
  • A published Wufoo form

Step 1: Add the SourceLoop tracking code to your site

In SourceLoop, open Setup -> Tracking code and copy your snippet.

SourceLoop Setup Tracking code page with the snippet ready to copy

Paste it into the <head> of every page that could host the form, using your theme’s header, your site builder’s custom code setting, or a tag manager tag that fires on all pages.

Step 2: Embed the Wufoo form with its JavaScript code

  1. In Wufoo, open the Form Manager, find your form, and click Share.
  2. Copy the JavaScript embed code.
  3. Paste it into the page on your site where the form should appear, the same page that loads the SourceLoop snippet.

Step 3: Send a test entry

Open the page in a private window with ?utm_source=test&utm_medium=check&utm_campaign=wufoo-test on the end of the address. Fill in the form with an email you can recognise and submit it.

The entry shows up in SourceLoop’s Contacts within a few seconds, with the test campaign on it.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Do I need a paid Wufoo plan?

No. Capture depends on the form being embedded on your own page with the SourceLoop tracking code, which works on any Wufoo plan.

  2. Does the iframe embed work, or only the JavaScript embed?

Use Wufoo's JavaScript embed code. It renders the form into your page, which is what lets SourceLoop tie the entry to the visit. A bare link to your form on wufoo.com bypasses your site and can't be attributed.

  3. Will my Wufoo notifications and integrations keep working?

Yes. Entries still reach your Wufoo inbox, email notifications, and any connected apps. SourceLoop records its own copy with the attribution added.

  4. Can I keep a Wufoo form out of my leads, such as a job application?

Yes. Add the form under Setup -> Tracking code -> Exclusions, or exclude the page it lives on with Visits only.
