How to Track the Marketing Source of Every Deal and Company

See the channel and campaign behind every CRM deal and company, with the buying committee's journeys, and report on pipeline and won revenue by source.

In B2B, the conversion that matters is the deal, not the form fill, and several people from one company often touch your marketing before it happens. Deals and Companies in SourceLoop show both: every CRM deal and company with the channel and campaign behind it.

Open Contacts in the left sidebar. All companies and All deals sit under All contacts in the side menu.

Deals

The Deals page lists every deal synced from your CRM, as a board by stage or as a table. The cards at the top total the pipeline.

Click a deal to see:

  • First touch and latest touch: channel, source, campaign, and landing page, taken from the journeys of everyone on the deal
  • The buying committee: each person linked to the deal, with their own journey
  • Stage and value history: every stage change and amount change, kept even if the CRM renames things later

The board is read-only, because your CRM is the source of truth. Click a deal to open it in your CRM.

Companies

The Companies page groups people by company, from their email domain or the company in your CRM. Open a company to see:

  • Overview: a summary of the company and how it found you
  • Deals: every deal with that company
  • People: everyone from that company SourceLoop has seen, with their journeys

Reporting on deals and companies

In the Traffic and Revenue report or any report you build, set Measuring to:

  • Deals by status to credit open, won, and lost deals to channels and campaigns
  • Companies by stage to see which channels bring companies to each lifecycle stage

To teach your ad platforms which campaigns produce revenue, send won deals with conversion sync.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Where do deals come from?

From your CRM. Connect HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or Jobber and turn on the inbound sync. Sales you import from a file also appear as deals, on an Offline sales pipeline.

  2. Can I move deals between stages in SourceLoop?

No. Your CRM stays the source of truth, so the board is read-only. Click a deal to open it in your CRM.

  3. How does a deal get its first and latest touch?

From the journeys of the people on the deal, the buying committee. If a deal has no people, it uses its company's journey instead.

  4. Why don't I see Deals in the sidebar?

The Deals page appears once a connected CRM has synced at least one deal.

  5. How are won deals counted as revenue?

A won deal counts on the day it closed, at its amount. When the same customer also pays through Stripe or another payment tool, the payment is used instead, so a sale is never counted twice.
